Stability in a shoe is extemely important for people with flat feet because they
over-pronate. Flat feet do best in straight lasted, board lasted motion control shoes
with not too much cushioning as they will increase instability and magnify pronation problems
by allowing your feet to continue rolling inward.
Inspect new shoes before you buy them. The outsole (tread) of a new pair of shoes
should rest flat on a level surface and you should not be able to rock the shoe back and
forth laterally (side to side) when you push the shoe from side to side.
